Transitioning...from what could have been to what definitely was!

We have spoken to Sita. We have heard the story of Draupadi’s life and tried to delve into her psyche. And now, on the “Extraordinary Women” series, it is the time to leave the world of mythology and take a look at two outstanding women of Indian history. While Sita and Draupadi are two of the strongest female characters in Hindu mythology, the next two are exemplary women in pre-dominantly Islamic settings.

While one chose to be famous voluntarily and worked hard to achieve a status which was unparalleled by any other woman during her time, the other had a very different take on life, love, ambition and other such matters. While one ruthlessly broke all contemporary customs for females, the other through her simple and gentle ways made sure her name would never be forgotten by the world.

Without further ado, then, its story time!
